What If I Am Not Receiving Push Notifications?

Below you will find helpful steps to troubleshoot why you may not be receiving push notifications for Listing Alerts through the UtahRealEstate.com mobile app.

Tip #1. Make Sure You Are Using the Most Current Version of the Mobile App

The first step is to make sure you are using the most current version of the UtahRealestate.com mobile app. Here is how you can check if you are using the most current version of the mobile app:

iPhone:

1. Open the App Store

2. At the top right, tap the profile icon

3. Scroll to the Pending Updates section

4. If the UtahRealEstate.com app has an update, it will appear in this list. Tap Update to update the UtahRealEstate.com app

Android:

  • Open the Google Play Store app
  • At the top right, tap the profile icon
  • Tap Manage apps & device
  • Apps with an update available are labeled “Update available”
  • Tap Update All to update all apps on your phone, or tap See details to see the specific apps with pending updates
  • If the UtahRealEstate.com app has an update, it will appear in this list. Tap Update to update the UtahRealEstate.com app

Tip #2. Make Sure You Are Signed In to the Mobile App

You will only receive push notifications if you are signed in to the mobile app with your UtahRealEstate.com MLS account. Here is how you sign in to the mobile app:

1. Open the UtahRealEstate.com mobile app

2. From the navigation menu, select the Sign In option that appears at the bottom of the menu

3. Enter the username and password you use to sign in to the UtahRealEstate.com MLS

Tip #3. Make Sure Push Notifications Are Enabled for Your Listing Alert

Make sure the specific Listing Alert for which you want to receive push notifications is set up with push notifications enabled. Here is how to enable push notifications for a specific Listing Alert:

1. Within the MLS, select Clients from the main navigation menu, then select the Listing Alerts option

2. Find the Listing Alert you want to set up for push notifications and select the Edit Icon that appears next to that Listing Alert

3. Scroll down to the Notification Options section, and select the Agent Mobile App Notifications checkbox

Note: the Email Me option must be selected in order to enable app notifications

4. Last, select Save at the top of the screen

Tip #4. Make Sure Your Device is Set Up to Allow Push Notifications

You will need to make sure you have allowed or enabled the UtahRealEstate.com mobile app to send push notifications to your device (i. e. a phone, tablet, etc.). There are two ways to enable push notifications:

1. Allow From Within the App: When you log in to the mobile app, you will see a pop-up (similar to the one below) which will ask if you want to receive notifications from the UtahRealEstate.com mobile app. Select the Allow option to enable push notifications.

2. Alternatively, if you previously selected the ‘Don’t Allow’ option in the past, or you are otherwise not seeing the mobile app pop-up to enable push notifications, you can go to your device settings to turn on notifications for the UtahRealEstate.com mobile app. Here is how you edit your device settings to enable push notifications:

iPhone:

1. Open Settings

2. Tap Notifications

3. Select the UtahRealEstate.com app from the list, and make sure that Allow Notifications is on

4. If you have notifications turned on for an app but you are not receiving alerts, you might not have Banners selected. Go to Settings > Notifications, select the app, then select Banners

5. Make sure that you are signed in to your Apple ID

6. Please also make sure that Do Not Disturb is off

Android:

1. Open your phone’s Settings

2. Tap Apps & notifications and then Notifications.

3. Under Recently Sent, find apps that recently sent you notifications

4. Tap More to see the full list

5. Tap on the UtahRealEstate.com app to select the preferred notification options
