Listing agents, as well as team members setup to manage showings, have the ability to schedule showings on behalf of other agents, including agents from different brokerages. Here are some practical examples of when this feature might be used:
- You are contacted by an agent who wants to show your listing, but that agent is, for example, driving or otherwise not in a place where they can login to Aligned Showings and submit a showing request.
- An agent wants to show your listing, but they don’t use Aligned Showings. You want to record this showing in Aligned Showings so you have a record of the showing.
- Your office routes all showing requests through specific staff members at your brokerage (such as a transaction coordinator or office assistant), but you want to log and record all showings in Aligned Showings so you have a history of those showings.
How to Schedule a Showing on Behalf of Another Agent
Here are step-by-step instructions on how to schedule a showing on behalf of another agent.
1. Initiate a showing request on your own listing by clicking the “Schedule a Showing” link on your listing in the MLS.
2. Click into the box that says Setup a showing on behalf of and type to search for the agent who will be showing your listing. Note: This box will only appear if (1) you are the listing agent for that listing, or (2) you are a team member who has been setup to manage showings for that listing.

3. Once you have found the agent who will be showing the property, click that person’s name to select them. Then, proceed with the remaining steps to schedule the showing (i.e. select the date, time, etc.) and submit the showing request.

4. Once you have submitted the showing request, you will then need to approve the showing appointment request (i.e. you will need to approve the showing request that you created on your own listing on behalf of someone else). This can be done by selecting the green Approve button that appears after the appointment request is submitted (seen below). Alternatively, if you prefer for your seller/tenant to approve the showing that you submitted on behalf of another agent, you can take no action and wait for your seller/tenant to respond to the request.
